What are the ingredients for the perfect holiday? Comfortable accommodation. Sunshine. Lots of outdoor activities. And breathtaking surroundings. Whether you are holidaying by the coast, in a wooded area, on the heath or in a traditional Dutch polder landscape, nature plays an important role in your holiday experience. That is why we like to give something back to nature and are certified with the Green Key.
Green Key is a well-known international quality mark for sustainable businesses in the recreation and leisure industry. This quality mark shows that we do everything we can to minimise the impact of our business on nature and the environment. In doing so, we go a step further than what is required by normal laws and regulations.
The certificate has three levels: bronze, silver and gold. The more environmental measures a recreation company has implemented, the higher the “environmentally friendly” level. We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the gold Green Key.
In practice
Does this mean you have to compromise on luxury? Or that you have to constantly be mindful of nature and the environment during your holiday? Certainly not. A condition of the Green Key is that the quality and comfort of the guest is guaranteed at all times.
We use water sparingly, but in such a way that you can still enjoy a lovely, hot shower after a long day. We use environmentally friendly cleaning products, but this does not mean that your accommodation is any less clean. During your stay, you can read a good book in the evening, under an atmospheric energy-saving light bulb. And the toilet lighting in the sanitary building? Thanks to light sensors, it only comes on when someone is actually in the building. You won't get too hot or too cold, as we make sure that the heating is turned on and off at the right times. All this not only promotes a feeling of comfort, but also benefits nature and the environment!

Green Key is part of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). This is a global organisation with members in more than sixty countries. Here you can read all about the idealistic objectives of this organisation: caring for and raising awareness of nature, the environment and sustainability. So that future generations can also enjoy our beautiful planet.
